Le Cordon Bleu student success at Chocolate Show in Korea
International Young Chef Challenge

Le Cordon Bleu new graduate and now Alumnus, Eun Hye (Grace) KIM won a Silver medal recently at the International Young Chef Challenge held in Korea. Her silver came from a piece she exhibited in the Chocolate Show which embodied over 5,000 years of beautiful Korean culture and history. This innovative competition attracts young chefs from all over the world and provides them with the stage to promote their fresh culinary experience, skills and abilities. Teams from Costa Rica, Denmark, USA, Australia, Italy, Luxembourg, Slovenia and from Asia were present for this great event, with a response was so overwhelming that over 43 teams applied for the 20 spots on offer. Grace won silver with the highest marks at the competition for her show piece and although ecstatic will be aiming higher again in 2014 for gold!

 
Flaming High Tea
Sydney Morning Herald Good Food

Le Cordon Bleu recently participated in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month, holding a Flaming High Tea as part of the Ultimate High Tea events occurring for the month of October. The high tea held on the Sydney campus on 19th and 26th October was a roaring success, where guests were presented with a dainty feast of sandwiches, pastries and sweet treats, all created by the Le Cordon Bleu students. Current patisserie student Julia Taylor of MasterChef fame showed guests another of her many talents by playing classical piano during the event. Students also had the opportunity to show off some of their impressive theatrical skills by adding the finishing touches to crepes flambé in front of the guests. A parting gift of chocolates, made by the students were presented to guests before they left as a sweet memory of a lovely afternoon.

 
Hot 100 sponsorship and students
An innovative Australian wine competition

On 7th November at the Hotel Intercontinental Ballroom the Adelaide Review Hot 100 celebrated its 7th year embarking on the journey to find the best drinking wines in South Australia. This dynamic competition celebrates the diversity of South Australian wineries and wine makers and is open to both professional winemakers and amateurs alike.

Cooking for Chemo
The Leukaemia Foundation

For the past two years Le Cordon Bleu in association with the Leukaemia Foundation has run Cooking for Chemo at the Adelaide Regency campus in what has annually been hugely successful night. With tickets selling out in less than 24 hours the night included cooking demonstrations, dietician’s advice and practical tips on cooking whilst undergoing chemotherapy.

Le Cordon Bleu releases new e mail service for students and alumni
myCordonBleu.net

As part of its commitment to develop student services, Le Cordon Bleu is proud to introduce a new online service for students and alumni under the name myCordonBleu.net.

Based on a personalised email address, the myCordonBleu.net service includes webmail with a calendar and address book, and seamless integration with instant messaging and a collaboration platform.

The myCordonBleu.net services will be rolled out to all the Le Cordon Bleu campuses in the coming weeks and later in 2014 for our alumni community. Students will receive an email on their current registered address with details on how to connect to these exciting new services.

This is the recipe made by Chef Jean-François Deguignet during the “Fête de la Pâtisserie” which took place at the Élysée Palace, in Paris, on Monday, 30th September 2013. The National Confederation of Artisan Pastry Masters selected 150 Pastry Chefs including the Cordon Bleu Paris Pastry Chef.
