Orientation Week

From the 1st to the 5th of July Adelaide Regency students were welcomed with an orientation week filled with programs and events. A highlight of the week, apart from meeting all the new students, was a trip to the Cleveland Wildlife Park, where international students had the opportunity to meet some of our own Australian natives!

 
Welcome to our new Indian and Thailand teams
Australia

A big welcome as well to our new Indian and Thailand hub members. Based in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangkok they will be recruiting students from India, SAARC and Thailand. During their orientation in Adelaide and Sydney, our new teams were able to meet the locals along with their Australian counterparts in a wildlife and wine tour of some of Adelaide Beautiful wine regions.

 
Le Cordon Bleu partners with GD Goenka University in India
Offering a Bachelor of Business in International Hotel Management

On the 1st July 2013 prestigious culinary and hospitality school Le Cordon Bleu signed and announced a new partnership with GD Goenka University in Haryana. This partnership heralds a new era of learning for Indian students who will now be able to access the unique program of Le Cordon Bleu’s International Hotel Management, three year Bachelor of Business. This three year intensive degree prepares students for many of the career options in the international hospitality industry. From pragmatic business simulations and real-life professional practices through to critical analysis of management styles and the strategic thinking required to succeed in hotel management. This Multi-disciplinary program has been designed to ensure students graduate confident in their management ability at an International level.

Licensing agreement with Swissmar for ceramic oven to table products
Collection will be in stores November 2013

Le Cordon Bleu is pleased to announce a licensing agreement with Swissmar, who will produce a line of ceramic oven-to-table products under the name, Le Cordon Bleu. These licensed products, which are made in France, will be available in retail stores throughout North America and the Caribbean, with additional global opportunities

MasterChef China sponsorship winners
Le Cordon Bleu scholarships

Le Cordon Bleu congratulates the five winners of the Le Cordon Bleu scholarships for the second season of MasterChef China. These include full Le Cordon Bleu scholarships to London, Paris, Sydney, Ottowa and Shanghai. This exciting partnership for the second series of MasterChef China has seen a tough group of competitors compete for these unique scholarships, that will allow them to realise their dreams to one day become a Master Chef themselves.

Taiwan online winners announced
Round two voting to commence!

The first round of voting for Le Cordon Bleu’s online video competition in Taiwan has ended, and the top fifteen finalists have been announced. Some of the country’s most skilled and creative amateur chefs have put their culinary skills on show, highlighting the depth of talent in amateur cooking evident in Taiwan.

As part of their three minute video entry students were asked to prepare and present a dish using local ingredients and illustrate how Le Cordon Bleu could help them achieve their career goals. Out of over 60 videos submitted online, Le Cordon Bleu and the voting general public selected the top fifteen. These will now enter a second round of both online voting by you the general public to select who you think will win, and face to face competition in a cook-off for the opportunity to become a final five finalist, and the chance to win one of three scholarships to Le Cordon Bleu.

This next 'lucky dip' round of voting will also offer the public another opportunity to win tickets to the final judging event, or a sample Le Cordon Bleu pack of tea towels or apron.

Macau Le Cordon Bleu short courses
June 2013

Le Cordon Bleu in conjunction with the Institute for Tourism Studies in Macau has once again conducted the "Le Cordon Bleu Master Chef Program" from the 24th - 29th June 2013.

This very successful program gives students the opportunity to experience first-hand, the skills and expertise of French pâtisserie as showcased by Chef Jean-François Deguignet. The six day short course was a ‘taster’ for the longer courses normally run by the Le Cordon Bleu cooking school, but gave students the chance to learn quickly, the fine art of pâtisserie. Each day was prefaced by a Master Class demonstration in the morning, which was followed by an afternoon cooking class where students then made their selected pâtisserie from the morning. On completion of the course each student received a certificate of achievement in pâtisserie.
