Le Cordon Bleu Sydney is pleased to announce that Chef Karen Doyle, recently received one of the NSW Minister's Quality Teaching Awards for 2012. Karen's was presented with the award by Pam Christie, Managing Director TAFE NSW, Deputy Director-General, TAFE and Community Education and the Hon Adrian Piccoli MP, Minister for Education.

The Regional Food Cultures and Networks Conference 2012
In the beautiful Barossa valley of South Australia

The Regional Food Cultures and Networks Conference 2012 was hosted in the beautiful Barossa valley of South Australia by Le Cordon Bleu Australia. Supported by our higher education partner, Southern Cross University, the event showcased small producers from regions around Australia and some representation from overseas (Philippines and Malaysia).

Opened by Le Cordon Bleu COO Derrick Casey the conference, put together by Academic Services Unit team members, ensured themes of sustainability and community engagement were to the fore.

MaG Graduate Success
Roberta Muir

Le Cordon Bleu Alumni Roberta Muir, who graduated in 2003 with a Masters of Arts in Gastronomy, has been managing the Sydney Seafood School at the Sydney Fish Market since 1997. Roberta reviews restaurants, judge's cheese, free-lances in food, wine and travel writing, and is the author of the Sydney Seafood School Cookbook, a beautifully presented collection of  seafood recipes from Australia's leading chefs.

Le Cordon Bleu would like to congratulate Roberta on her many achievements and wishes her success with this new book.

 
"Sweet Confessions" blending style, excellence and creativity
Sophie Fiorenza

Opening just under two years ago, "Sweet Confessions" is owned and run by Sophie Fiorenza, a graduate from Le Cordon Bleu's Restaurant Business program.

Graduating in 2001, Sophie was among the first student enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in Adelaide.

A qualified chef before beginning with Le Cordon Bleu, Sophie felt the need to continue her formal education and funded her own way through her studies. "I made a clear decision to invest in my education" explained Sophie.

It was an important step for her and she credits this investment to many of the opportunities that have been presented to her since.

MIHM Graduate Success
Andy Bowen Nie

Le Cordon Bleu would like to congratulate recent Masters of International Hospitality Management graduate Andy Bowen Nie for being selected for the InterContinental Hotel Group's Future Leaders Program Australasia 2013. Known as I-Grad, this program teaches the ins and outs of running a great hotel while developing capabilities as a future leader. Understandably Andy is very excited about this amazing opportunity, and has credited the knowledge that he's gained from Le Cordon Bleu in aiding his selection.

 
Le Cordon Bleu creates culinary history in Taiwan
National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT)

Le Cordon Bleu is proud to announce that it has now officially linked arms with National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT) to deliver Le Cordon Bleu's internationally famous programs in Taiwan.

A Joint Venture and Delivery agreement was recently signed at NKUHT on 7th November 2012 at a ceremony that included Mr Andre Cointreau, President of Le Cordon Bleu International, and Dr. Chi-Yeh Yung president of the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, as well as government education officials and university authorities. The joint agreement  has confirmed the delivery of culinary and management education programs including seven Bachelor degrees and two Masters through a new joint entity that will operate the Le Cordon Bleu Kaohsiung International Hospitality and Tourism Centre within NKUHT's main campus.

Le Cordon Bleu graduate wins China's first MasterChef
Featured Alumni Story - Wei Han

Le Cordon Bleu is proud to announce that Wei Han, a Le Cordon Bleu Paris graduate, has been the winner of the MasterChef in China.

Oriental TV concluded the first Chinese season of the internationally famous MasterChef series on October 14, and young Chengdu resident Wei Han beat tough competition to win a dream contract worth one million RMB – largely due to the skills he acquired from his Le Cordon Bleu training the previous year.
