Le Cordon Bleu International Chefs, members of the World Pastry Cup and Bocuse d’Or teams
Sirha (Salon international de la restauration, de l'hôtellerie et de l'alimentation) combines an international professional trade show with one of the most prestigious culinary exhibitions in the world. More than 12,000 chefs from 130 countries come together for the famous World Pastry Cup and the Bocuse d'Or.
The World Pastry Cup will take place from January 27-28. This year 22 teams, for the first time from all five continents, will compete against one another. Each team includes Chefs to cover three disciplines:  chocolate, sugar and ice.
Le Cordon Bleu Chefs will be in teams representing Australia, the United Kingdom and France.
For the Australian team: Andre Sandison, Head Teacher in Pâtisserie at Le Cordon Bleu Sydney and Justin Yu, Le Cordon Bleu Australia Pâtisserie Graduate 2009 who were the winners of the Asia Pastry Cup 2012 last April in Singapore.
For the British team: Javier Mercado and Nicolas Belorgey - Pastry Chefs and Instructors, Le Cordon Bleu London.
For the French team: Nicolas Jordan, Pastry Chef and Instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, will be a substitute.
 
The Bocuse d’Or is the most important international cuisine competition and will take place on January 29-30. A total of 24 different countries will be participating in this competition: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Guatemala (the coach, Jorge Lamport, is a Le Cordon Bleu Paris 1995 alumni), Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.
The Mexican team for the Bocuse d’Or includes Miguel Quezada, Executive Chef of Le Cordon Bleu Casa de Francia restaurant and winner of the last Trophée Passion competition (which took place in Paris on October 8, 2012) organized by the Académie Culinaire de France. Patrick Martin, Executive Chef Le Cordon Bleu International, is the team coach.
Le Cordon Bleu will also be taking part in the Sirha event to present its programs and activities. Visit us at Le Cordon Bleu stand:
