Özyeğin University and Le Cordon Bleu, the renowned international culinary arts institution, will sign an agreement today to seal the partnership between the two institutions.
The signing ceremony which takes place at the Özyeğin University is chaired by Mr. Hüsnü M. Özyeğin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Mr. André Cointreau, President and CEO of Le Cordon Bleu International.
This new partnership has been developed in response to the strong demand for quality culinary arts training and restaurant management education in a country boasting economic opportunities. Furthermore, an increasing number of students from neighboring countries are coming to Turkey for Higher Education.
Commencing in October 2012, Le Cordon Bleu will operate with the University Lifelong Learning Center in its new state-of-the-art culinary facility. Le Cordon Bleu will deliver culinary programs in cuisine and pâtisserie considered to be the most complete and intensive instruction available today. Le Cordon Bleu Diplomas give students the qualifications needed to open the doors to a successful career.
Mr. André Cointreau, President of Le Cordon Bleu says, “…this program will not be a French cooking school, but a center which will focus on French classical culinary techniques at the service of local cuisine and the community. Furthermore, Le Cordon Bleu will jointly deliver a Bachelor of Sciences in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts integrating culinary fundamentals, world cuisines and food production, among other modules. Our international reputation and presence will certainly be a support for our new partnership in Turkey."
Mr. Mehmet Teoman Alemdar, Hotel Management Program Director for the School of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University adds, “This partnership will be an additional asset to boost culinary education in our country where tourism and hospitality are one of the fastest growing sectors. Le Cordon Bleu already has a long term relationship with our country having trained many successful Turkish students at their network of schools.”
Established in 2007, as one of Turkey’s newest universities, Özyeğin University (OzU) is a non-profit, state-recognized higher education institution located in Istanbul, Turkey.
