The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs 2014 induction ceremony

The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs 2014 induction ceremony and gala dinner took place on July 12 at Le Faust Restaurant, Pont Alexandre III in Paris.

This year, forty people, including chefs, sommeliers and professionals from the culinary industry were inducted, among three members from Le Cordon Bleu Paris :

Chef Kaye Baudinette, Resource Center manager and Cuisine Chef

Chef Instructor Olivier Mahut Pastry Chef

Franck Ramage, Wine Department Manager and Wine and Management Program Principal

"Maître Rôtisseur" "Maître Rôtisseur" "Maitre Sommelîer du Baillage de France" and "Membre de l’ordre mondial des gourmets dégustateurs"

The ceremony began with the speech of Mr Yam Atallah, President of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. He highlighted the association values by recalling that: "the “Chaîne des Rôtisseurs” is an active community of professionals and food enthusiasts, sharing a passion for the culinary arts. The “Chaîne des Rôtisseurs” is also a community of friends who defend and promote not only French gastronomy but all the cuisines of the world through its local members".

To encourage future Chefs,  the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs has been organizing the "Jeune Chef Rôtisseur" international competition for several years. This competition is an ideal opportunity to have an essential and unforgettable experience to build a successful culinary career. Every year, Le Cordon Bleu collaborates with the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs to organize the national competition, which takes place at the Paris school. The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs has also its own charity association (ACCR) to facilitate the integration of young unpriviledged people into the world of gastronomy.

Overall, 180 members, chefs, sommeliers, international delegates and guests were present at this event. Among the attendants, Guillaume Gomez, official Cuisine Chef of the French Presidency, also participated in this ceremony.    

The induction ceremony was followed by a cocktail and a gala dinner, prepared by Christophe Langrée, Cuisine Chef at Le Faust Restaurant and former Cuisine Chef at the Matignon Hotel, official residence of the French Prime Minister.

Corporation des RôtisseursThe Chaîne des Rôtisseurs was founded in 1248 under the reign of Saint-Louis. The rôtisseurs were very privileged in that they were allowed to roast geese. In 1950 the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs was restructured and became “La Confrérie de La Chaîne de Rôtisseurs ». The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs has continued to expand and today counts more than 30 000 members throughout the world.

The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs celebrated Bastille Day
The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is present in many countries, including Australia. To celebrate Bastille Day, the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs South Australia with the collaboration of Le Cordon Bleu Australia organized a gala dinner on July 14 at The Rising Sun Inn in Adelaide. Chef Tom Savis prepared a 6 course menu, paired with excellent wines sponsored by Irvine Wines. Norm Harrison, Bailli Délégué Australia, the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs was present at the both events : the Rising Sun Formal Dinner in Adelaide and the 2014 Chaîne des Rôtisseurs induction ceremony and gala dinner in Paris.
