First ever Diploma ceremony for Restaurant Management Program students

The first ever Diploma ceremony for Restaurant Management Program students took place on Friday February 27 2015.

The Restaurant Management Program was created to prepare future professionals and entrepreneurs for new trends and technological innovations in gastronomy and the restaurant industry, with nine students in the first class.

During this intensive Program, they followed 6 months of lessons in marketing and communication, finance and management, cuisine, wine and service. They then carried out a 6-month practical internship in restaurants, ranging from family businesses to prestigious establishments such as the Plaza Athénée.

The students in this class, of eight different nationalities, were a real melting pot. The international environment and the diversity of the students’ backgrounds before beginning the Program, will be invaluable for their future careers.

This year’s diploma ceremony took place at the “Cercle de l’Union Interalliée”, where the nine students and their guests were given a warm welcome by Le Cordon Bleu Paris teams. Sylvie Ménissier, Academic Director, and Sylvain Boussard, Food & Beverage teacher, began the ceremony with a welcome speech. Frédéric Picard, Managing Director in the hotel industry, who honored us with his presence as class patron, then gave a speech. With an International Masters in Hotel Management and 15 years of solid experience under his belt, Mr. Picard has held a number of Management positions in the hotel industry in companies such as Kerzner International and the Jumeirah Group. Sylvain Boussard then awarded each individual student with their diploma. The ceremony ended with a delicious cocktail party during which all the guests were able to discuss and share their experiences of this first ever Restaurant Management Program.
