“Live your dream with Le Cordon Bleu”

On Saturday the 12th July at Le Meridien Hotel Shanghai, Le Cordon Bleu held a press conference and cocktail party with esteemed guests and Alumni to announce the new 2014 "Live your dream with Le Cordon Bleu” scholarship contest. Special guests of Le Cordon Bleu alumni from over 20 cities globally, and the sponsor representatives attended this special launch event. Three alumni in China were nominated as key contact persons for the Le Cordon Bleu Alumni Association (China Chapter) in different cities: Mr. Wenbo Cai, Mr. James Chen and Mr. Ronnie Qiu are now charged with contribution towards Alumni events and will support the contest throughout its running.

Chef Philippe Clergue, Technique Director of Le Cordon Bleu Shanghai External Website has also been instrumental in this year’s launches providing a Chef Demo for the Macau scholarship launch on the 14th July during the six day culinary course held at the Institute for Tourism Studies in Macau, and attending the Taiwan scholarship launch and opening ceremony of first Le Cordon Bleu Ming Tai Foundation program on the 21st July. With so much happening in the Greater China region he is sure to be a valuable contributor to the various events and launches in the region.

This year’s online registration is open to the public from the 21st July and in a new initiative, residents of China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong can now apply.

Following the success of the 2013 contest this online competition will run in three stages and offers students, Chefs and apprentices from the culinary industry the opportunity to participate and showcase their skills in an effort to win one of five exclusive scholarships to global Le Cordon Bleu campuses. All applicants must however be under 35 years of age with less than 5 years demonstrated experience in the industry to apply.

The judging panel hails from all areas of hospitality from prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Chefs, outstanding entrepreneurs and Alumni from Le Cordon Bleu and Industry partners to Media representatives.
