Le Cordon Bleu Supports Ashinaga Charity Afternoon Tea
Raising money for victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March 2011
On Friday 30th September, Le Cordon Bleu London attended a charity champagne afternoon tea at the French Ambassador’s Residence in aid of the Ashinaga Scholarship. The event was hosted by The Pastry Network, a monthly meeting held in Mayfair, London for pastry chefs and enthusiasts alike.
As an official sponsor of the event, Le Cordon Bleu enjoyed canapés and pastries provided by leading restaurants, along with 200 fellow guests including the Japanese Ambassador, Mr. Hayashi and his wife, the French Ambassador’s wife, Madam Emié and French Minister Counsellor, Mr Poimboeuf. The event raised £10,972 for the Ashinaga charity which has been educating orphans in Japan since 1969. The funds will support their current project to build a care centre for orphans from the earthquake and tsunami in North East of Japan in March 2011.
