An evening in honor of Le Cordon Bleu Paris alumni
On June 16, Le Cordon Bleu Paris held a special event in honor of our alumni to celebrate the future Alumni Association launch.

The evening began with a culinary demonstration by Juan Arbelaez, a Colombian alumnus from 2009. After doing internships in several top Parisian restaurants and participating in the popular program Top Chef, Juan has taken over the restaurant La Plantxa in Boulogne Billancourt. He has also opened a pop-up restaurant, La Piazza, in the Marais district in Paris. During the culinary demonstration, two recipes were prepared :

Meagre ceviche with grilled palmitos Smoked duck, agria potato foam, blackcurrant and shiso
Meagre ceviche with grilled palmitos® Smoked duck, agria potato foam, blackcurrant and shiso

This year, Ernesto Paolucci, who graduated in 1940, could not unfortunately be with us. Ernesto arrived in France in 1944 during the Normandy landings. He was given a scholarship by the American government to follow his culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu Paris. He did his studies side-by-side with one of our most distinguished alumni Julia Child! On June 6, Enrnesto was invited to the special event which celebrated the 70th D-Day commemorations..

In the evening, the participants presented their professional careers, often exceptional and international. Their careers have focused in different types of culinary arts: Cuisine, pastry, education, gastronomic tourism, culinary design or food truck creation.

A raffle was organized during the evening. The lucky winners were Cristal Ngan and Annick Muller, who won respectively a dinner at ZE Kitchen Galerie, restaurant of Chef William Ledeuil who was the class patron for the second 2014 Cuisine session graduation ceremony, and a dinner at Farago, culinary establishment of our alumni: Pierre Dutaret and Inigo Ruiz Rituerto.

This event was also an ideal opportunity to showcase the first edition of Le Cordon Bleu Paris alumni book, which highlights many alumni success stories.

The evening finished with a buffet prepared by Le Cordon Bleu Chefs. Pastry Chef, Xavier Cotte swapped hats for the evening and took care of the musical arrangements.

We wish to give a very warm thanks to all our alumni, as well as to Le Cordon Bleu Chefs and students who participated in this 3rd edition of Le Cordon Bleu Paris alumni evening.
