Rosemary Hume of L'Ecole du Cordon Bleu in London creates the dish Coronation Chicken which is served to foreign dignitaries at the coronation luncheon of Queen Elizabeth II.

In 1954, the movie Sabrina, directed by Billy Wilder, opens starring Audrey Hepburn as Sabrina who attends the famous French cooking school in Paris.
