1940-1949

In 1942, Dione Lucas opens the Cordon Bleu School and Restaurant in New York. She also authors the best-seller The Cordon Bleu Cook Book and becomes the first woman to have a televised cooking show.

After the liberation of Paris in 1945, Le Cordon Bleu is accredited by the Pentagon for the professional training of young GI's after their tour of duty. As a former member of the OSS, Julia Child qualified and in 1948 enrolls at Le Cordon Bleu.
