Cuisine Student Assisting MasterChef Finalist

|LG Cooking Demo in Sydney|
On 3 September 2009, one of Le Cordon Bleu Australia’s best students, Joachim Lim, was assisting Justine Schofield, celebrity MasterChef Australia Finalist, for the LG Cooking Demo in Circular Quay, Sydney. There were three cooking demonstration and Joachim quoted that he was a little bit nervous but the excitement of being there and meeting the celebrity chef was overwhelming. Working environment was challenging with limited resources, however the experience in front of media and the general public was invaluable to him. Justine gave him great feedback and she wanted to work with him in the future at the cooking shows.

Joachim Lim is a 22 years old Singaporean who is currently studying Superior Cuisine at the Sydney Culinary Arts Institute after the completion of Patisserie course and received Diploma in Culinary Skills at Shatec, a very well known culinary school in Singapore. His family has migrated to Melbourne and he decided to study at Le Cordon Bleu Australia because Le Cordon Bleu is prestigious.
He started working at age of 16 as a waiter at Sheraton Singapore. During his study at Shatec, he worked at Grand Hyatt Singapore for 9 months in the kitchen. The highlight of his work experience was to work with Adriano Zumbo, a famous patisserie chef, for 2 months.
After the graduation, he wants to be based in Sydney and gain more work experience. His dream is to open his own restaurant with patisserie shop attached before he turns 29. Also, he would like to travel the world and to be a well-respected chef for his skills, knowledge and professionalism.
