Introducing Food Entrepreneurship student Yoshnaa

Food Entrepreneurship student YoshnaaYoshnaa (pictured here at La Bonne Table in Adelaide) joined Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide in July and is just about to complete her first 6 months in the Bachelor of Business (Food Entrepreneurship) program. She has been studying food production, communication, business finance, food and beverage management, wine appreciation and gastronomy. As per of her studies Yoshnaa was involved in the development and promotion of a boutique beer brand and enjoyed participating in excursions around Adelaide as part of her Industry Workshop.

Le Cordon Bleu Industry Workshops have been introduced in recent years to provide extra contact hours between restaurant, food and wine business entrepreneurs. The workshops provide many opportunities to see how successful businesses operate. The small groups of students also get to enjoy different dining experiences, including some of Adelaide's most innovative restaurants. Le Cordon Bleu's Susie Chant, food entrepreneur and gastronomy expert, has designed and leads the workshops, foregrounding the best examples of successful food and wine businesses and immersing students in the realities of what it takes to be an industry leader.

Yoshnaa will commence her first work placement (professional experience) in January and plans to undertake her placement in food production and quality assurance.

Usually when I think about Universities I commonly associate it with medicine, engineering or law. In my point of view that were the rational careers to pursue, at least that was the stereotype I grew up with.  But I realised I wanted to be part of the food industry when I discovered the beauty of making homemade marshmallows, it was mesmerising to see that my own two hands were able to create such a technical candy. Personally I see art in every form. Art has played an important role in my life and food is a way that I can express myself instead in paper form. I see my life heading towards the food industry because I am passionate about food and I want my life to revolve around it so that I can proudly say that I love my job and all it offers.

To put it in a nutshell, I want to pursue my career in the food industry because I know that I will be successful because of my determination. I am also very appreciative to my family for being supportive towards my decision. I am able and willing to be dedicated to reach my dreams. I want to be able to change people’s view on food and show that there is more to it than just the appearance.
