Le Cordon Bleu Mexico achieved the first place in the Gran Azteca Latin American Culinary Contest 2012® promoted by AMAIT ® (Abastecedores Turísticos, AC), which took place on August 29, 2012, in the framework of the fair ABASTUR ®, recognized as one of the major touristic events in Latin America.
The main purpose of the competition was to impulse the development of food professionals nationwide through a contest where participants demonstrated their culinary skills, creativity and innovation
Chef Miguel Quezada, executive Chef of the restaurant “Casa de Francia Le Cordon Bleu” and Axel Garcia student from our school, under the supervision of Chef Patrick Martin director of Le Cordon Bleu Mexico, achieved the first place for our school in this great event, with this Le Cordon Bleu continues to increase their medals in the culinary world.
Twelve schools participated from around the country in a match that lasted 5 hours, where the main ingredients were sole and a complete stuffed lamb, the theme of the competition was free, the challengers had to serve 12 portions mounted on a platter, accompanied by three side dishes, two sauces for each ingredient.
What's next for our school? Now our Chef Miguel Quezada and Axel García will represent Le Cordon Bleu Mexico and the next contest will be against Latin American Chefs the winner will travel for the Bocuse d'Or in 2015.
Miguel Quezada continues with his improvement and he will represent Mexico in Paris for the "Trophee Passion" on October 8 2012, only few Mexicans Chefs have been in this competition and we hope that the Executive Chef from the Restaurant Casa de Francia Le Cordon Bleu, returns triumphant with another medal for us.
