Treat yourself with a day at the Henley Food Festival
Henley-on-Thames, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2009

Le Cordon Bleu is the major sponsor of the Henley Food Festival.
Come and visit us on our marquee to see live demonstrations from our Master Chefs, buy cooking equipment or fine food and discover our programme of professional training around the world. We will also have the World Carving Champion, Chef Armando Baisas, doing ice and fruits carving on our demonstration tent on both days!

Lacam Trophy 2009
A pastry competition at Le Cordon Bleu London

Le Cordon Bleu London welcomed the finals of the Lacam Trophy on Saturday 18th April 2009. This pastry competition is organised every year by L'Association Culinaire Française de Grande-Bretagne. L'Association Culinaire Française is a society created and managed by Chefs, for Chefs, which main goal is to maintain professional standards of Cuisine and to encourage Learning and Skills.

The 12 contestants, professionals and students, had only a few hours on Saturday morning to create different desserts and pastries. These creations were then judged by an outstanding team of 6 Pâtisserie Chefs, who tested the contestants’ culinary knowledge, originality and skills.

A Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie student, Miss Nuannapa Ratanakitsunthorn, participated in this competition. She came very close to winning, as she amazed the team of judges with her knowledge and master of pâtisserie.

Le Cordon Bleu celebrates Mediterranean Cuisine!
"Port to Port", Superior Cuisine Dinner, 23rd April 2009

Our Superior Cuisine Students held their 'Student Event' dinner last 23rd April 2009. The students worked as a team, under the supervision of Chef Stuart Conibear, to create an astonishing seven-course dinner menu on the Mediterranean cuisine theme. They welcomed 40 of their fellow students, who enjoyed very much this very special evening.

This event is organised every term and it gives students the opportunity to demonstrate the skills they have acquired over their Diploma course as well as their creativity.

Asparagus with soy and wasabi dressing
The perfect seasonal recipe!

Asparagus not only tastes delicious but is also one of nature's super foods! The asparagus season is a highlight of the foodie calendar. The first spears appear at the end of April but the season lasts just eight weeks so we need make the most of each delicious bundle while we can.
This delicious salad is excellent for an early summer barbecue party. The distinctive flavour of Japanese wasabi, which is usually served with sushi and sashimi, goes particularly well with barbecued fish.
