Pastry Diploma 2010

Gee-Min Lee graduated from the Pastry Diploma program in 2010. She loved to cook since childhood, and took relevant courses at cooking institutions while she attended high school. She chose the Le Cordon Bleu-Sookmyung Academy as she had long admired it as the best education institution for more in-depth knowledge in French pastry. The systematic Le Cordon Bleu Pastry Diploma program and chefs’ artisan spirits in traditional French pastry provided substantial aid in checking and improving her abilities as well as her attitude towards the field. Furthermore through the teaching process of Le Cordon Bleu such as the alternate demonstration and practical lessons carried out in small, intensive classes, she built up her academic and practical foundation.

Presently she is working at ‘Deux Amis’ a Café and Atelier managed by one of our alumni and also teaches baking to students. She said it was important for students and alumni to build up their self-esteem but also emphasized being humble, and not conceited. Working in the creative industry they should be more receptive to the opinions of other people. Finally she said that it was naturally for graduates to feel their inadequacies when they enter the industry. She advises that they should not feel agitated and always remember that they can learn a lot from experience. In this way they will be able to discover developments in themselves step by step.
