Ja-Hyun Won, Representative of Atelier Dalcoco, Instructor of baking class

Pastry Diploma 2009

Ja-Hyun Won graduated from the Pastry Diploma program in 2009. She majored in food and nutrition, focusing more in the pastry field as she wanted to be a patissier. Initially, she considered studying abroad after graduation, but she decided that Le Cordon Bleu-Sookmyung Academy was the best education institution to learn pastry, as she planned to return to Korea to work. She began the new chapter of her life at Le Cordon Bleu. She was able to learn step by step from the basic to superior levels through the systematic curriculum of Le Cordon Bleu. She always pushed herself to do her best and successfully completed the diploma course. Each and every word of the chefs and even the smallest techniques accumulated to become the foundation of her career.

Presently, she is running the Atelier ‘Dalcoco’ and teaching baking to students. She opened her own atelier with her experience in the buffet and desert cafe of the pastry department during her time at Le Cordon Bleu, and valuable advice from classmates who were already in the business. She recommends to future students, especially the ones who dream of managing his/her own business that they should have sufficient experience in the field before setting up their own business. Her ultimate aim is to open an atelier-cafe specializing in desserts and tea.
