Sirha 2011

Sirha (Salon International de la Restauration, Hôtellerie et Alimentation) combines an international professional trade show with one of the most prestigious culinary exhibitions in the world where more than 10,000 chefs of 136 countries get together. Sirha hosts the famous Bocuse d'or and the World Pastry Championship competitions.

The Bocuse d’or will take place on January 25-26. A total of 24 countries will participate in this competition: Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, China, Denmark, Spain, United States, Finland, France, Guatemala (the coach, Jorge Lamport, is a alumni from Le Cordon Bleu Paris 1995), Indonesia, Island, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, and Uruguay. The World Pastry Cup will be held on January 23-24. This year 19 countries will compete:  Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, China, Colombia, South Korea, Spain, United States, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, United Kingdom, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Tunisia, and Uruguay. The second edition of the European Catering Cup will be organized on Saturday January 22. Le Cordon Bleu alumni Antonio Barros from Portugal will be representing the restaurant Eleven located in Lisbon.Patrick Caals

Patrick Caals, Chef instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Paris will be presenting cooking techniques with the oven manufacturer Bourgeois on Sunday January 23 and Tuesday January 25 2011. Stand 8E66 both days at 11am and 2pm. For more information click here.Christian Faure

Christian Faure, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, Chef Instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa will be present during this exhibition. Chef Faure is one of the chefs featured in the second edition of the book “The Best recipes of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France”. The book will be available at the stand 10K16. A book signing with Chef Faure will take place on January 22 at 4:00pm at the stand Le Cordon Bleu (Place du Marché Hall 9-9J43).
